Joining our Book Club is a great way to meet new people, be motivated to read, and experience literary genres outside of your typical choosing.  Book club is a place where readers can ask thematic questions, share the excitement or frustration they had with the storyline and generally talk through their thoughts.

Book Club meets every 4-6 weeks at a local coffeeshop.  To date, we have read the following books:

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

Defending Jacob by William Landay

Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

The Masterpiece by Francine Rivers

Alicia, My Story by Alicia Appleman-Jurman

We Were Liars by e. lockhart

Genuine Fraud by e. Lockhart

An American Marriage by Tayari Jones

My Husband’s Wife by Jane Corry

“As a teacher, I used book clubs to excite and energize young readers into experiencing reading as a social event.  Malcolm Mitchell, Super Bowl Champion, is an example of a reluctant and inexperienced reader, who stepped into his reading identity through book club participation. He has been an exceptional model to my students. Watch this short clip on Malcom Mitchell's INSPIRATIONAL story.”
